
G. Wayne Elliott joined Bronx Bethany in 1991. Since then, he has been a leader in the Men’s Ministry and served in the Youth Ministry as a Festival of Life chaperone and NYI volleyball coach. Outside of the sanctuary, Wayne is a highly accomplished executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, specializing in sales, customer experience, strategy, marketing, and operations. Currently serving as Market Director Banking – Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase, his role involves growing profitability, maintaining sound operational controls, and creating exceptional client experiences. Wayne has dedicated his expertise and time to Bronx Bethany Community Corporation since its inception in 2003. He has served as Executive Chair of BBCC where its Food Pantry program received state and national recognition. His godly devotion, exceptional leadership, commitment to diversity, and ability to foster a sense of belonging have made him an outstanding member on the Board of Trustees where he has served for over 20 years. Wayne also sits on the Eastern Nazarene College Board of Trustees where he chaired the Finance and Audit Committees and participated in the President’s Task Force on Racial Justice. Most recently, he acted as the Interim Chair of the Board at the request of the President. He is also a founding member of Raising Black Men, an organization dedicated to mentoring young men, and he has contributed to the Town of New Castle Council on Race and Equity as Co-Chair of the Town Planning and Housing Committee. His strategic vision and collaborative approach have been instrumental in achieving organizational goals and driving cross-business success inside and outside of Bronx Bethany.
Nichelle Maynard-Elliott, Founder and CEO of Dunamis Transaction Advisors LLC, is an accomplished dealmaker and advisor to boards and senior management with over 25 years of extensive financial and legal experience, business development, and strategic alliances. She has also been an influential member of BBCN for over 40 years. Her family started attending Bronx Bethany in 1979 and in 1999, she became the youngest member elected to the board, where she has faithfully served for 25 years. She was also the Chairperson for Forward in Faith, BBCN’s first capital campaign. Nichelle currently sits on the boards of The Manhattan Initiative, Inc., The Metro New York District, and The Nazarene Foundation. She was named one of 2021’s Most Influential Black Directors by Savoy, a 2023 Director to Watch by Directors & Boards, and one of BoardProspects 2024 100 Black Board Members Making a Difference. Nichelle has held several leadership positions in Bronx Bethany, lending her expertise to the church and community whenever possible. With her notable gifts in ministry, Nichelle was a part of the NYI choir, plus, she is the founder of Bronx Bethany’s Chosen choir, which she still directs, and the Praise and Worship Team, where she served for 19 years.
Nichelle and Wayne Elliot embody living legacy. Together they have established and raised funds for the Dr. V. Seymour and Dorothy May Cole Scholarship Fund which led to the beginning of the BBCN College Prep Program. They have sought to serve and minister as a family with intentionality. Their son, Gavrie, and daughter, Nailah follow in their footsteps. They have ministered and served the kingdom of God through Bible quizzing, Children’s Church, the Praise & Worship team and, of course, Bronx Bethany’s Chosen alongside their parents. The Elliots continue to exemplify God’s promise of generational blessing to his faithful servants.
